Roman Nose State Park

Roman Nose State Park

Description :

Named for Cheyenne Chief Henry Roman Nose, this original Oklahoma state park built on his family's traditional hunting land was completed by the Civilian Conservation Corps in 1937. This and the other seven parks were created to fulfill the corps mission of providing outdoor recreation spaces easily accessible from major metro areas. In keeping with the changing times, a full-service motor lodge was completed in 1956, offering an alternative overnight option to cabins and campsites. In addition to hiking and exploring the area's natural springs, park guests can enjoy horseback riding, fishing and even play a round on one of the most unique golf courses in the region.
