A 501(c) nonprofit organization founded in 1967, the Heard Natural Science Museum & Wildlife Sanctuary consists of a 289 acre wildlife sanctuary and a natural science museum for the primary purpose of educating children about nature. The Heard exists to bring nature and people together to discover, enjoy, experience, restore, and preserve our priceless environment. Please note: unless otherwise listed on our site's Hours page, Heard guests may not be granted entry after 4 p.m. and our gates close at 5 p.m. Offering: ropes course with a zip line; wedding venues; event venues; gardens; events; educational programs; preschool & homeschool programs; summer camps; night hikes; seasonal annual dinosaur exhibit; hiking trails; birding; exhibits.
