Juniper Dunes Wilderness
Description :
Juniper Dunes Wilderness is located just outside Kennewick, Washington, near the confluence of the Columbia and Snake rivers. The 7,100-acre parcel of protected land is, of course, known for its windswept sand dunes measuring as much as 130 feet tall; but there is also a wonderful assortment of spring wildflowers and wildlife that call the area home. The wilderness is also home to the northernmost growth of Western juniper. The area is separate from the Juniper Dunes off-highway vehicle area.
