Martha Lafite Thompson Nature Sanctuary is a private non-profit nature organization with a 100 acre Wildlife Sanctuary. About 4 miles of trails traverse diverse habitats, including, wheel chair accessible paved trail and a trail side bird blind in the prairie. The Nature Sanctuary offers educational programs and events. A Nature Museum with classrooms, a gift shop, library, indoor bird viewing area, and exhibits (including zoo animals) is open Tuesday through Saturday 9am to 5pm The Nature Center is closed Holidays and the day before/after; also closed the weeks of Christmas thru New Year's. Trails are open daily 8am to 5pm.
