The focus of every Mountain Shepherd adventure course is always on safety and preparedness in the outdoors. Our adventures feature the seven priorities of wilderness survival - positive mental attitude, wilderness first aid, shelter, fire, signaling, water, and food. Students learn how to address each priority in order to be prepared to help themselves and others while adventuring in the outdoors. Many Mountain Shepherd experiences dig a little deeper by drawing connections between these backcountry skills and our everyday lives in the “front country.” We believe survival skills can be useful indoors and out!
